Challenge
To support tourism and increase interest in Omaha, we introduced OMAR — a larger-than-life troll brought to life through a children’s book, statue and city-wide storytelling effort. The campaign’s first year captured imaginations and brought visitors to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. But the next chapter needed to do even more to expand his legend, deepen engagement and get families excited enough to meet him in person.
Solution
We brought OMAR’s world to life through a richly illustrated microsite that felt as magical as the bridge’s most beloved resident. We gave him a voice, added animations and used chapter-style navigation to let families explore at their own pace. A custom map pointed to OMAR’s favorite Omaha spots — and digital postcards made the experience easy to share. Designed to mirror the look and feel of the original book, the site used sound, motion and interactivity to turn a local story into an experience families would be inspired to visit.
