Swanson Russell received eight Paper Anvil Awards and two individual awards at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Nebraska Chapter’s 2015 Gala on December 9.
Swanson Russell won an Award of Excellence and seven Awards of Merit. The Award of Excellence represented work for the University of Nebraska Omaha. Awards of Merit were accepted on behalf of UNO Baxter Arena; Propane Education and Research Council, based in Washington, D.C.; and FMC Corporation, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The award-winning work was recognized in the categories of news conferences, editorial/OP-ED columns, social media, smartphone/tablet applications, videos, external programs and special event/outreach/educational/trade show.
Public Relations Manager Kellie Wostrel, APR, accepted the Chapter Service Award for her exceptional work as a PRSA Nebraska leader. Managing Director/Executive Creative Director Ed Salem was a co-recipient of the Community Service Award on behalf of the We Don’t Coast Creative Task Force.
“Our public relations professionals work closely with other account team members to create strategies and tactics that meet goals and objectives, and get results,” said Jeff Patterson, APR, senior vice president/director of public relations at Swanson Russell. “It was a team effort, and we appreciate PRSA Nebraska for the opportunity to have our work evaluated and recognized by our peers. We also appreciate Kellie and Ed for their service to PRSA and the Omaha community.”
