11 key ingredients
We have high expectations of ourselves. Below are the keys to being successful as one of our employees.
- Hard work by everyone.
There is no substitute for good, old-fashioned hard work. If everyone on the team is willing to give 100 percent effort, stay focused on the job at hand and perform up to their capabilities, we will be a long way down the road to success. - Leadership and professionalism.
Regardless of your role within the agency, you need to show leadership and professionalism in dealing with fellow employees, suppliers and clients. - Recognition of the need for good people.
Our most important asset is our employees. We must recognize that we will be only as good as the people who make up our team. - Sense of urgency.
While things will always require prioritization, nothing goes on the back burner. If you operate with a sense of urgency, all responsibilities will be fulfilled. Anything for which you have responsibility is high on someone’s list of priorities. Your sense of urgency will be appreciated. - Recognize this is a service business.
It is our responsibility to be considered a trustworthy counsel while serving our clients. This needs to be balanced with the philosophy of doing “whatever it takes” to provide the service desired by the client. - Optimistic and positive attitude.
Attitude is ninety percent of the battle. A positive attitude with your teammates, our suppliers and our clients will always be valued and rewarded. A poor attitude will not be tolerated. - Recognition that everything about the business is important.
Nothing we do is insignificant or unimportant. Every job in the agency is critical to our success. Recognize that the role you play, as part of the team, is absolutely fundamental in our quest to be the best we can be. - Persistence. Persistence. Persistence.
If you want to make something happen bad enough, you can! Never give up. Never quit. Stick with it. Sooner or later, it will happen. - Involvement by everyone on the team.
Swanson Russell is a team. For the team to be successful, everyone who works here needs to be involved. There are no bad ideas. The more you get involved, the more rewarding your job will be. - Maintain focus.
As a business, we must maintain our focus. Consequently, as individual members of the team, you must maintain your focus. Understand what your focus should be and stick with it. - Luck.
We will have both good luck and bad luck. However, if we are true to the ten previous key ingredients, we will make a great deal of our own good fortune. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
